RCTI (Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia) is Indonesia's first private television station. RCTI first aired on 13 November 1988 and inaugurated on August 24, 1989. Finally in 1990 the government allowed RCTI to broadcast nationally, but could only be realized at the end of 1991.

In 2004, RCTI become one of the largest television station in Indonesia. Since October 2003, RCTI is owned by Media Nusantara Citra, a group of media companies that also became the owner of Global TV and MNCTV.
